Whole House
The Umri is a fully-staffed, two-storied homestay set amid pine forests and the solitude of nature. It has four bedrooms and sleeps eight adults. There are living and dining rooms on the ground as well as the first floor, and two spacious bedrooms each on both levels. The ground floor deck as well as the first floor balcony offer stunning views of the surrounding hills and forests and the bluest of skies. The rooms as well as their attached bathrooms are equipped with best-in-class amenities and facilities.
The Luxe Life Apartment
The gorgeous ground floor apartment sleeps four adults. It contains a spacious living room, dining room, kitchenette and two large, comfortable bedrooms with attached bathrooms. The apartment opens on to the deck and offers magnificent views of verdant forests and misty mountains. Filled with interesting art, knick-knacks that tell stories and packed bookshelves, Luxe Life invites you to curl up on one of the many comfy sofas or king-sized beds and get lost in a book or reverie or just take a nap.
The True Blue Room
An airy, well-appointed room on the first floor of The Umri. Its three windows give you panoramic views of the forests and mountains in the distance. The room contains a comfortable king-sized bed with matching bedside tables, a bookshelf packed with fiction and non-fiction books, a cosy armchair and a large writing table with an old green banker’s lamp. The room has a spacious bathroom attached.
The Sunshine Room
A cheerful, sunlit room on the first floor of The Umri. It contains a vintage king-sized bed, bedside tables, a dresser and a fat armchair that tempts you to sink into it, and never get up. There are large wardrobes for all your possessions and an attached bathroom with all the mod cons.
Breakfast is served between 8 am and 10 am.
Lunch is served between 12.30 pm and 2.30 pm.
Dinner is served from 7.30 to 10 pm.
Breakfast in included in the tariff; a la carte menu available for all other meals. Since this is a remote area, ingredients can sometimes be difficult to procure. It’s best to inform the chef a day in advance if you want something special cooked.

Take National Highway 534 from Kotdwar to Lansdowne. Watch out for The Umri board after passing the First View of Lansdowne sign. Start climbing up the hill road from the sign. There are signposts all the way to guide you to the homestay. There is free parking on the premises.
